So after a bit of digging on the internet, I found out that you can drop of ordinary household batteries at many Jiffy Lubes in Los Angeles. Here is the info:

Thanks for the information! I never knew you could recycle those old batteries, I always just threw them away. I am glad jiffy lube is taking a step into industrial waste management! Makes me like them even more!
